Other Concerts at Yadara

A concert is a live music performance in front of an audience. The performance may be by a single musician, sometimes then called a recital, or by a musical ensemble, such as an orchestra, band, choir, or musical theatre group. Concerts are held in a wide variety and sizes of settings, from private houses and small nightclubs, dedicated concert halls, arenas, and parks to large multipurpose buildings, and even sports stadiums. Indoor concerts held in the largest venues are sometimes called arena concerts or amphitheater concerts. Informal names for a concert include show and gig. Musical performances have existed throughout history, with some of the earliest known examples taking place in Ancient Greece. Several ancient cultures – including the Babylonians, Indians, Chinese, and Egyptians – held musical events as part of religious ceremonies and festivals.

Concerts were also common in Ancient Rome, with famous Examples including performances by Gaius Maecenas, an agent for Emperor Augustus, who frequently held musical soirees at his home which featured some of the best musicians in Rome; and the ardently religious Emperor Constantine, who would frequently travel to different cities to hear the latest musicians. The word "concert" comes from the Latin word meaning "to come together". The first known use of the term "concert" to describe a musical event dates back to 1597. A concert tour is a series of concerts by an artist or group of artists in different cities, countries, or locations. Often concert tours are named, to differentiate different tours by the same artist and associate a specific tour with a particular album or product. Especially in the popular music world, such tours can become large-scale enterprises that serve to promote an artist's works as well as their public image and increase their commercial value.

A concert tour is also sometimes called a music festival or gig. A one-time concert event, such as a benefit concert or a charity show, may also be referred to as a "gig". Live albums and compilations of previously recorded material are not usually considered concerts, although they may be included in concert tours. A live concert recording can be made of a concert performance, which then becomes a document of that particular concert. Concerts are usually held in a variety of settings, from private houses and small nightclubs to dedicated concert halls, arenas, parks, large multipurpose buildings, and even sports stadiums. Indoor concerts held in the largest venues are sometimes called arena concerts or amphitheater concerts. Informal names for a concert include show and gig. When a concert is advertised as a "benefit" concert, it may be to raise money for a particular cause; when a concert is held in aid of a charitable organization, it is usually called a "charity concert". A charity concert typically features one or more well-known musical acts and is often organized by a celebrity.

Benefits usually raise awareness as well as funds for a cause; they may also serve to commemorate particular individuals or events. Some benefits are organized by businesses that wish to promote their corporate image or products, while others are organized by individuals or non-profit organizations. A few benefits are organized as political rallies to show support for a candidate or particular policy; these types of concerts are usually called "campaign stops". Benefit concerts are sometimes held to raise funds for natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina and the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Other benefit concerts raise funds for victims of human-caused disasters such as the 9/11 attacks, the 2010 Haiti earthquake, and the 2020 Beirut bombings. Some benefits are organized to commemorate particular individuals or events. These types of concerts can be held to mark the anniversary of a death (such as the Concert for Diana, which was held seven years after the death of Princess Diana), or the anniversary of a birth, such as the annual Birthday Concert for Mozart (held on his birthday, 27 January).
