Rock of Ages is a musical set in the late 1980s on the Sunset Strip. It tells the story of Drew, a small-town boy who moves to L.A. to pursue his rock 'n' roll dreams, and Sherrie, a small-town girl who moves to L.A. to follow her dreams. The two get swept up in each other's lives as they face the highs and lows of pursuing their dreams on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip. The music for Rock of Ages is composed by various artists from the early eighties such as Journey, Styx, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, and Foreigner amongst many others. The show was written by Chris D’Arienzo and first premiered at New York Theatre Workshop in 2006 before making its Broadway debut in 2009 where it landed five nominations at the 2011 Tony Awards including Best Musical. The original Broadway cast included performers like Constantine Maroulis, Amy Spanger, James Carpinello, Mitchell Jarvis plus Jeremy Jordan amongst many others.
