    About Los Angeles Clippers

Boasting the star-studded Los Angeles skyline as its backdrop, the L.A. Clippers are a professional basketball team in California's beautiful metropolis that competes in the NBA under the Pacific Division and Western Conference banners. As proud tenants of the dynamic Arena, Los Angeles Clippers share their home games with fellow NBA team Los Angeles Lakers, WNBA powerhouses - LA Sparks, and NHL giants - LA Kings. By 2024, the Clippers will be relocating to their new home venue, the Intuit Dome in Inglewood. Established as the Buffalo Braves in 1970, this franchise has made an indelible mark on the NBA. Led by Bob McAdoo - a Hall of Famer himself - they reached the playoffs three times in their eight years at Buffalo. After a disagreement with Canisius Golden Griffins over Buffalo Memorial Auditorium and the sale of their franchise, the team relocated to San Diego in 1978. To commemorate this move, they were re-titled as San Diego Clippers – an ode to iconic sailing vessels that can be seen on its surrounding bay. Unfortunately, despite this big transition luck didn't seem to follow them - missing playoffs throughout all six years in California's port city.
Following the unexpected stoppage of the 2019-20 NBA season, 22 teams were invited to compete at the NBA Bubble in order to complete their regular seasons. The Clippers qualified and ended up finishing with a 49–23 record as the second seed in the Western Conference. Despite seemingly insurmountable expectations, the Clippers ultimately succumbed to a seven-game series loss against the Denver Nuggets in their first-ever conference semifinals. This marked yet another disappointment for them as they previously failed to capitalize on a 3–1 lead when they were eliminated from the same round years prior. Seven days following, Ballmer declared in a joint statement that Rivers had quit from his role as the head coach. Subsequently, Tyronn Lue was selected to take on this prestigious position. Disregarding Leonard's untimely injury in the 2021 playoffs, the Clippers managed to defeat the number one seed Utah Jazz, pushing them into their very first Western Conference Finals experience in franchise history. Unfortunately, they were unable to make it all the way and fell short against Phoenix Suns within six games. This prevented LAC from achieving the milestone of entering their maiden NBA National Championship Series appearance. Some of their rivalries include Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Milwaukee Bucks, Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, and New York Knicks.
