Hailing from Minneapolis, the Minnesota Timberwolves are a beloved American professional basketball team. Proudly representing Minnesota, the Timberwolves compete in the NBA's Western Conference Northwest Division and are eager to demonstrate their basketball prowess. Established in 1989, the Minnesota Timberwolves are owned by Glen Taylor who also owns the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx. Since 1990, the Timberwolves have been proud to call Target Center their home court for their home games. Initially, the Timberwolves experienced some difficulty as a new expansion team. Yet, all of that changed once Kevin Garnett joined in 1995 – from then on they made it to 8 consecutive playoffs between 1997 and 2004. Despite struggling in the opening round seven times, the Timberwolves eventually achieved their first division title in 2004 and even pushed further to reach the Western Conference Finals that same year. Garnett earned the coveted title of NBA Most Valuable Player in that season. Following their postseason miss in 2005, and the trade of Garnett to the Boston Celtics two years later, the team took up a decade-long rebuilding mission. After an eight-year absence, Garnett made a triumphant return to the Timberwolves in 2015 via trade and finally retired at the end of 2016 after playing out his final season with Minnesota. After an excruciating 14-year wait, the Timberwolves rejoiced when they returned to the playoffs in 2018. On May 23, 2022, the Timberwolves made a momentous decision: they hired Tim Connelly, who had been working as Denver Nuggets' president of basketball operations prior to this appointment. Consequently, he replaced Gupta in his position and became the new president of basketball operations for the Timberwolves. According to reports, the Timberwolves have signed him to a $40 million contract over 5 years with ownership equity included. On July 1st, 2022, the Minnesota Timberwolves made a landmark deal; they exchanged Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Leandro Bolmaro along with their No. 22 pick (Walker Kessler) plus four future first-round draft picks in exchange for three-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert from Utah Jazz.
