White Christmas is a beloved holiday classic that has been adapted for the stage and brought to life in festive Broadway performances. Written by Irving Berlin, the musical was first performed in 1954 and featured an all-star cast that included Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen. The story follows Bob Wallace and Phil Davis as they team up with Betty Hayes and Judy Haynes to save their Vermont inn from financial ruin. The Broadway production of White Christmas opened last November 23, 2008, at the Marquis Theatre in New York City. Directed by Walter Bobbie with choreography by Randy Skinner, the cast consisted of Stephen Bogardus as Bob Wallace, Jeffry Denman as Phil Davis, Meredith Patterson as Betty Haynes, Summer Broyhill as Judy Haynes, and Cheryl Freeman as Martha Watson. The show earned two Drama Desk Award nominations for Outstanding Choreography and Outstanding Music. Throughout the show, audiences were treated to some of Berlin’s most beloved songs such as “White Christmas”, “Sisters”, and “Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep.”
