About Cinderella

Cinderella is an iconic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical written for television in 1957. This beloved classic has been performed on stage and television around the world, including Broadway, London's West End, and Tokyo. Cinderella was originally presented as a live television production on CBS in March 1957 starring Julie Andrews as the titular character. It featured an all-star cast that included Edie Adams, Howard Lindsay, Alice Ghostley, Kaye Ballard, Jon Cypher, and Celeste Holm. The show was an instant hit with viewers of all ages and was nominated for two Emmy Awards. Since then it has become a staple of the theatre scene with numerous productions taking place at various venues around the world. In 2014 a new version of Cinderella debuted on Broadway to critical acclaim starring Laura Osnes as Cinderella and Santino Fontana as Prince Topher. This production earned nine Tony Award nominations including Best Revival of a Musical and Best Actress in a Musical for Osnes' performance. It also won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography by Josh Rhodes. The show has also been produced in London's West End with performances at the Gillian Lynne Theatre since 2018.

It starred Carrie Hope Fletcher as Cinderella and Ivano Turco as Prince Topher. In 2021 there had been plans to produce a new version of Cinderella on tour across North America featuring music from both the original 1957 production as well as songs from other Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals such as Oklahoma!, The King & I, Carousel, South Pacific, Flower Drum Song, and The Sound of Music. An all-star cast will be featured including Taylor Louderman (Cinderella), Andy Huntington Jones (Prince Topher), Victoria Clark (Fairy Godmother), and Ann Harada (Stepmother). The tour kicked off last November 2021 at San Diego's Civic Theatre before heading to cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, Boston, Toronto, and more! 2023 will see yet another exciting production of Cinderella take place at the London Coliseum featuring some of today's most talented performers such as Rosalie Craig (Cinderella), Norman Bowman (Prince Topher), and Jenna Russell (Fairy Godmother).
