The Women's College World Series (WCWS) is the pinnacle of collegiate softball in the United States. Established in 1982, the WCWS has been held annually since then and has grown to become one of the most popular college sports events in the country. The tournament features eight teams from around the nation competing for a national championship, with games being held at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, OK. This year's team will be led by some top players including pitcher Giselle Juarez who was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Year last season; shortstop Tiare Jennings who won Big 12 Player of the Year; outfielder Jocelyn Alo who had 17 home runs last season; catcher Kinzie Hansen who had a .400 batting average; and first baseman Tiare Boyette who had an impressive .983 fielding percentage last season.
