The Wake Forest Demon Deacons Basketball is steeped in a proud and successful history. Established in 1951, the team has grown to become one of collegiate basketball's most successful programs. Since then, Wake Forest has continued to produce successful teams that make deep runs into March Madness each year due to a combination of strong recruiting classes combined with experienced coaching staffs led by former NBA star Danny Manning who took over as head coach for 2014–15 season which saw them finish 20-14 and make it to Round 32 before falling short against Virginia Cavaliers 72–63 at Moda Center in Oregon.
