Mark Barry (drums, percussion), Miguel Briseño (bass, keyboard, theremin), Tom Renaud (guitar), and Ben Schneider (guitar, lead singer) form the band, Lord Huron. The group is based in Los Angeles. Ben Schneider's family spent every summer visiting Lake Huron, and the name was inspired by the lake. In an interview, Schneider stated that the meaning of the band's name is "open to interpretation". Their song "Ends of the Earth" has been featured in a number of movies and television series. It appears during the end credits of the 12th episode of the third season of Showtime's Shameless and the 6th episode of FXX's Man Seeking Woman Season 2. 

It was also used in an episode of the short-lived ABC series Selfie. It's also been featured in the Netflix series' final episode, Unbranded, as well as in the Netflix docu-series and TV commercials for jewelry company Zales, automobile manufacturer Hyundai, and sporting goods chain Eddie Bauer.  In episode 5 of the Netflix series Manifest, this song was played. They have earned two Grammy nominations, one for Best Rock Album in 2021, and the other for Best Alternative Music Album in 2022. Lord Huron has also been nominated for a variety of other awards, including Gold & Platinum status from the Recording Industry Association of America, as well as Artist of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
