James Arthur's sophomore album, Back from the Edge, was released on October 28, 2016, and it debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. The multi-platinum lead single from the album, "Say You Won't Let Go", reached number one in the UK, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Ireland, as well as several other countries. The album was also certified platinum and also featured the singles "Safe Inside", and "Train Wreck."

2018 was a bit of a quieter year for Arthur, although he did release the single "Empty Space" in October. The song peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart, making it his ninth top-10 single in the UK. He also released the singles "You Deserve Better" and "At My Weakest."
He released his third studio album, You, on October 18, 2019. The album debuted at number two on the UK Albums chart. It received mixed reviews from music critics. The album also featured tracks with artists like Traviss Barker, Shotty Horroh, and Adam Lazzara. His fourth and most recent album, It'll All Make Sense, In The End, dropped on November 5, 2021, and debuted at number three on the UK Albums chart.

James Arthur has released four very successful albums, written numerous hit singles, and has toured around the world.
