It's hard to believe that it has already been over 50 years since the summer of 1969. It seems like just yesterday that Bryan Adams was climbing the charts with songs like "Summer of '69" and "Straight From The Heart." In honor of this momentous anniversary, we wanted to take a look back at everything that happened in the summer of 69'. So pull up a chair and join us as we take a trip down memory lane!

On June 28, 1969, The Stonewall Riots took place in New York City. This event is widely considered to be the beginning of the modern LGBTQ rights movement.

On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first human being to walk on the moon. It was a momentous achievement not just for the United States, but for all of humanity. After all, we had finally reached the stars. Or at least one of them.

On August 8-10, 1969, One of the most gruesome murders was committed by Charles Manson and his so-called "family" of followers. They killed nine people, including the pregnant actress Sharon Tate. The murders shocked the nation and led to a heightened sense of paranoia during the already turbulent late 1960s.

On August 15, 1969, Woodstock took place. It was a three-day music festival that featured some of the biggest names in the business, including Jimi Hendrix, The Who, and Santana. Over 400,000 people attended the event, making it one of the largest gatherings in human history.

And then, on August 17, 1969, a Category 5 hurricane hit Mississippi Gulf Coast near Waveland, MS. It was the most powerful hurricane to ever hit the United States at that time, and it caused billions of dollars in damage.

On September 24, 1969, The "Chicago 8" trial began. The trial was for eight anti-war protesters who were accused of inciting a riot at the 1968 Democratic National Convention.

On October 16, 1969, The New York Mets won the World Series. It was a huge moment for the team, as they were considered underdogs going into the series.

And last but not least, on September 26, 1969, the Beatles released their eleventh album, "Abbey Road." It would go on to become one of the best-selling albums of all time.

All in all, it was a summer that was full of historic events. But it was also a summer that was full of love, peace, and music. And that is something that we can all remember fondly.
