If you're a cricket fan, then you'll know that some of the best players in the world come from the United Kingdom. There are so many talented UK cricketers that it's tough to narrow it down to just 10. But we've done our best, and here are our picks for the top 10 cricket players from the UK. Let us know who you would have put on this list!

1. Joe Root
There's no doubt that Joe Root is one of the best batsmen in the world right now. He's currently ranked as the number 2 Test batsman by the ICC, and he's also captained the England Test team. Root has scored over 10,000 runs in his Test career so far, and he's only 31 years old. We think he's got a lot more runs in him, and he could go down as one of the greatest batsmen ever by the time he retires.

2. James Anderson
James Anderson is currently the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket for England, with over 650 wickets to his name. He's also England's all-time leading wicket-taker in One Day Internationals (ODIs), with 269 wickets. Anderson is still going strong at the age of 39, and he shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

3. Stuart Broad
Stuart Broad is another one of England's top bowlers, and he's currently the third-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket for his country. He's also taken over 250 wickets in ODIs and was a key member of England's World Cup-winning squad in 2019. Broad is still only 36 years old, so he could easily move up this list before he retires.

4. Alastair Cook
Alastair Cook is England's leading run-scorer in Test cricket, with over 12,000 runs to his name. He's also the fifth-highest run-scorer in ODIs and has captained England in both formats for many years. Cook retired from international cricket in 2018 but continues to play first-class cricket for Essex.

5. Ian Botham
Ian Botham is one of the most iconic cricketers in English history. He's widely considered to be one of the greatest all-rounders of all time, and he was a key member of England's Ashes-winning team in 1981. Botham also holds the record for the most Test wickets by an Englishman, with 383 to his name.

6. Andrew Strauss
Andrew Strauss is another former England captain, and he's currently the Director of Cricket for the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). He led England to Ashes victories in both 2005 and 2009, and he also guided them to the top of the Test rankings. Strauss retired from cricket in 2012, but he's still heavily involved in the game.

7. Kevin Pietersen
Kevin Pietersen is one of the most controversial cricketers in recent memory, but there's no denying his talent. He's a world-class batsman, and he's also a handy part-time bowler. Pietersen played for England in all three formats of the game, but he had a falling out with the team management and was eventually dropped from the squad.

8. Graeme Swann
Graeme Swann was one of the best spin bowlers in the world during his playing days, and he was a key member of England's Ashes-winning team in 2010/11. He took over 250 wickets in Test cricket, and he was also named one of Wisden's Cricketers of the Year in 2009. Swann retired from cricket in 2013, but he remains a popular figure in the game.

9. Jonny Bairstow
Jonny Bairstow is one of England's leading batsmen in Test cricket, and he's also a very useful wicketkeeper. He made his Test debut in 2012, and he's already scored over 5,000 runs in the format. Bairstow is still only 32 years old, so he should continue to rack up the runs for England in the years to come.

10. James Tredwell
James Tredwell may not be as well-known as some of the other players on this list, but he's a very talented cricketer. He's a right-arm off-spinner, and he's taken over 400 wickets in first-class cricket. Tredwell also played seven Tests for England, but he was unable to cement his place in the team.

These are just some of the many talented cricketers who have represented England over the years. There are sure to be many more names added to this list in the future.
