The New Mexico State Aggies Basketball team has a long and storied history. The team was founded in 1924 and has been competing in the NCAA Division I since then. The Aggies play their home games at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. They are part of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and have won three conference championships since joining the WAC in 1996. The current head coach of New Mexico State is Chris Jans, who was hired in 2018 after leading Bowling Green to back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances. He has led the Aggies to two consecutive WAC regular season titles and one conference tournament title during his tenure so far. New Mexico State has also had some success on an individual level as well with several players being named All-Americans over the years including Reggie Theus (1978), Sam Mack (1989), James Moore (1991), Randy Brown (1992), Antonio Davis (1993), Danny Pena (1994), Michael Hicks (1995) and Pascal Siakam (2015).
