Nickel Creek is an American bluegrass band that has been captivating audiences since 1989. This award-winning trio consists of Chris Thile, and siblings Sara Watkins and Sean Watkins. The band's first album, Little Cowpoke, was released in 1993 when the members were just 8, 11, and 13 years old. Nickel Creek's second album, Here to There (1999), featured their first single to chart on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart "Reasons Why". In 2000, Nickel Creek won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album for their third album This Side. The group released two more albums - Why Should the Fire Die? (2005) and A Dotted Line (2014). These albums helped them further their success as they earned multiple awards including a Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance in 2006 for "Scotch & Chocolate." They also received four International Bluegrass Music Association Awards between 2004 and 2007.
After taking a hiatus from 2007 to 2014, they returned with a new album A Dotted Line which debuted at number 1 on the US Bluegrass Charts and number 2 on the US Folk Charts.
