Gregory Schramel and Marjorie Hardwick Schramel launched New Orleans Ballet Theatre in 2002 with the aim of giving local dancers a chance to pursue a full-time career in ballet. That objective has now been achieved, and it has grown. Over the last 20 years, NOBT has grown into Louisiana's top classical and contemporary dance company, becoming an exemplar and epicenter for both forms of dance in the Gulf Coast Region.
Now in its third decade, New Orleans Ballet Theatre is a staple of the Crescent City's vibrant cultural scene.
