The Western Hockey League's Regina Pats AKA Regina Patricias proudly represent the city of Regina, Saskatchewan - playing at the iconic Brandt Centre for their home games. In the 1920s, the team's name was officially shortened to Pats. With over seventy years of rich history and tradition on their side, this junior-level ice hockey team continues to be a major source of pride for all Regina residents. They are the only junior team that has been in existence since the inception of the NHL, a remarkable feat spanning all these years. The Regina Patricia Hockey Club was named in honor of Princess Patricia of Connaught, the cherished granddaughter of Queen Victoria and daughter of His Royal Highness the Duke of Connaught. In honor of Princess Patricia, the team was fittingly given her namesake and proudly bears regimental badges and "PPCLI" shoulder patches on their jerseys. Among the greatest Western Hockey League (WHL) players of all time are Jordan Eberle (2006-10), Clark Gillies (1971-74), and Doug Wickenheiser (1977-80). These legendary athletes have achieved great success on the ice both in their respective eras and beyond.

As early as 1918, they proved their prowess in the hockey arena by becoming Saskatchewan junior hockey champions - a feat that was even more impressive since there were no inter-provincial or national championships until 1919. With fifteen appearances in the Memorial Cup and four wins, plus nine runner-ups - that's an impressive track record! The Pats have also gone above and beyond to generously host the same tournament seven times since 1947: 1955, 1957, 1969, 1980, 2001, and 2018. The club has proudly won the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as Western Hockey League regular hockey season champions on two separate occasions - in 1973–74 and 2016–17. Some of their rivals include Medicine Hat Tigers and Moose Jaw Warriors.
