The Oklahoma Sooners Baseball team is one of the most storied programs in college baseball. Founded in 1895, the Sooners have been playing for over 125 years and have a proud tradition of excellence on the diamond. The team plays its home games at L. Dale Mitchell Park, located on the University of Oklahoma campus. Over the years, the Sooners have developed a number of rivalries with other teams in their conference, including Texas Tech, Kansas State, and Baylor. The Sooners have won numerous awards throughout their history, including two Big 12 championships and four College World Series appearances. Johnson has already made his mark on the program by leading them to a winning record in each of his first three seasons as head coach and earning Coach of the Year honors from both the Big 12 Conference and American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). The Sooners are led by some of college baseball's top players such as infielder Cade Harris who was named First Team All-Big 12 last season after hitting .348 with 11 home runs; outfielder Tyler Hardman who had 16 stolen bases last year; catcher Brady Lindsly who hit .328 with seven home runs; pitcher Justin Garza who had an ERA of 3.45 last season; and reliever Dylan Grove who recorded nine saves last year. As they look ahead to the 2023 season, Oklahoma Sooners Baseball will be looking to continue its success from recent years while also building on its rich history of excellence.
