The Arkansas Razorbacks Baseball team has a long and storied history of success. Founded in 1894, the Razorbacks have been playing baseball for over a century and have become one of the most successful programs in the country. The team plays its home games at Baum-Walker Stadium on the University of Arkansas campus. Over the years, the Razorbacks have developed several rivalries with other teams in their conference, including LSU, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. The Razorbacks have won numerous awards throughout their history, including 17 SEC titles and four College World Series appearances. The team also boasts an impressive list of former players who went on to play professionally in Major League Baseball, including Cliff Lee, Jeff King, and Dallas Keuchel. Currently leading the program is head coach Dave Van Horn who took over in 2003 after Norm DeBriyn retired from coaching.
Van Horn has already made his mark on the program by leading them to five SEC titles and two College World Series appearances during his tenure as head coach. The Razorbacks are led by some of college baseball's top players such as catcher Casey Opitz who was named First Team All-SEC last season after batting .353 with seven home runs; pitcher Connor Noland who had a 2.03 ERA last season; outfielder Heston Kjerstad who batted .349 with 12 home runs; first baseman Jacob Nesbit who hit .316 with 11 home runs; and relief pitcher Kevin Kopps who had a 0.93 ERA last season. As they look ahead to the 2023 season, Arkansas Razorbacks Baseball will be looking to continue their success from recent years while also building on their rich history of excellence.
