Sugaray Rayford is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who has been making music since he was a teenager. His sound is rooted in blues, soul, and gospel – but he also draws from other genres such as rock and roll, funk, and jazz. Sugaray’s career began to take off after he released his debut album in 2001. Since then, he has released five more albums: “The World That We Live In” (2004), “Southside” (2006), “Dangerous” (2008), “Southside Sessions” (2011), and most recently “The Grand Master of the Blues” (2014). Each album has showcased Sugaray's growth as an artist – both musically and lyrically. Throughout his career, Sugaray has earned numerous awards including two Grammy nominations for Best Traditional Blues Album in 2015 for The Grand Master of the Blues and again in 2017 for Dangerous.
He won the prestigious BMA Award for Best Soul/Blues Album of the Year in 2018 for Dangerous. He also won the Living Blues Critics' Award for Best Male Artist of the Year in 2019.
