Jerome Najee Rasheed, also known as Najee, is an American Jazz-Smooth Jazz saxophonist and flutist. He has been one of the most successful contemporary jazz artists since the mid-1980s, with a career spanning over three decades. His signature sound blends jazz, R&B, and pop elements into a unique style that has earned him critical acclaim and numerous awards. Najee began his music career in 1983 when he released his self-titled debut album. The album was an instant success and went on to become Platinum-certified in the US, making it one of the most successful debuts of all time. It featured hit singles such as "Betcha Don't Know" and "Najee's Theme", which became staples of Smooth Jazz radio stations around the world. Following this success, Najee released several more albums including Share My World (1989), Tokyo Blue (1992), Just An Illusion (1995), Morning Tenderness (1996), and Embrace (2004).
