Dumpstaphunk is a funk and jam band from New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. The band was formed by second-generation Neville family members Ivan and Ian Neville in 2003. Since then, Dumpstaphunk has earned its reputation as one of the most well-regarded, next-generation New Orleans live powerhouses. The band has released five studio albums: “Everybody Want Sum” (2005), “Dirty Word” (2013), “Dirty Word Live” (2014), “Where Do We Go From Here?” (2020), and their latest album "Where Do We Go From Here?" which was released in June 2021. The band's music combines elements of funk, rock, jazz, blues, and soul with a unique New Orleans flavor. They are known for their high-energy live performances that feature extended improvisational jams that often include covers of classic songs from other genres. Their songwriting style is heavily influenced by the music of their hometown as well as the music of other legendary artists such as James Brown and Sly Stone. Their songs have been featured on television shows such as HBO's "Treme" and Showtime's "Shameless". They have also performed at festivals such as Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, High Sierra Music Festival, Jam Cruise, and Voodoo Experience. In addition to performing at festivals, they have also toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe with acts such as Galactic, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Widespread Panic, and many more. In addition to their studio albums, they have also released several live recordings including two volumes of "Live At Jazz Fest" recorded during their performance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in 2012 and 2013 respectively. They have also won several awards including Best Funk Band at the Big Easy Awards in 2006 and Best Emerging Artist at the OffBeat Magazine Music Awards in 2008.
