Two Door Cinema Club is an Irish band from Northern Ireland. The band was formed in 2007 and consists of three members: Alex Trimble (vocals, rhythm guitar, beats, synths), Sam Halliday (lead guitar, backing vocals), and Kevin Baird (bass, synths). The band's debut album, "Tourist History", was released on 3 March 2010 by French independent record label Kitsuné Music. The album was a commercial and critical success, peaking at number four on the UK Albums Chart and selling over 50,000 copies in the United Kingdom. It was also nominated for the Mercury Prize. The band's second album, "Beacon", was released on 11 September 2012 and peaked at number two in the UK. The band has also performed at major festivals such as Reading and Leeds Festivals, Glastonbury Festival, Oxegen, T in the Park, and Lollapalooza. On March 18, 2019, Two Door Cinema Club released their fourth album's first single, "Talk."
The song was accompanied by a music video shot in the band's hometown of Bangor, Northern Ireland. The video was directed by Oisin O'Driscoll and produced by Sleepless Nights Productions. The band released "Satellite" on 24 April 2019, accompanied by the announcement of their next album, False Alarm. The album was released on June 14, 2019, and debuted at number three on the UK Albums Chart. On June 16, 2022, Two Door Cinema Club debuted the first single from their forthcoming fifth album, "Keep On Smiling", which was released a week later. They've been nominated for two BRIT Awards, as well as received a European Border Breakers Award. In addition, they've won Best Irish Band at the Meteor Ireland Music Awards three times and have achieved Platinum status in the UK for their singles 'Something Good Can Work' and 'Undercover Martyn'.
