The Jerry Cans is an award-winning Canadian band from Iqaluit, Nunavut. The group was formed in 2010 by Andrew Morrison and Nancy Mike, two lifelong friends who grew up in the small Inuit community of Arviat. They are known for their unique blend of folk music and traditional Inuktitut throat singing, which has earned them a dedicated following across Canada and around the world. Jerry Cans' debut album, ‘Inuusiq’ (2012), was an instant hit with critics and fans alike. It featured a mix of traditional folk songs and original compositions showcasing the band’s unique sound. Their follow-up album ‘Nunavuttitut’ (2014) was even more successful, earning them multiple Juno Award nominations and winning them Album Of The Year at the Indigenous Music Awards.
