Sea Power, formally known as British Sea Power and initially established as British Air Power, is an English alternative rock band. The members include Scott Wilkinson (Yan- vocals, guitar), Neil Hamilton Wilkinson (Hamilton- bass guitar, vocals, guitar), Martin Noble (Noble- Guitar) Matthew Wood (Wood- Drums). The band has released eight studio albums, the most recent being Let the Dancers Inherit the Party in 2017.
The band's music often finds itself compared to that of The Cure and Joy Division, as well as other post-punk groups such as Wire and Gang of Four. Their lyrics are also frequently compared to those of poet and novelist, T.S. Eliot.
The band's debut album, "Decline of British Sea Power", was released in 2003 to critical acclaim. The singles "Fear of Drowning" and "Apology for Non-Symmetry" both received significant airplay on alternative rock radio stations in the UK and Europe.
The band's second album, "Do You Like Rock Music?", was released in 2008 to similar acclaim. The singles "No Need to Cry" and "Waving Flags" both received significant airplay on alternative rock radio stations in the UK and Europe.
The band's third album, "Valhalla Dancehall", was released in 2011 to even greater acclaim. The singles "All in It" and "Wolves" both received significant airplay on alternative rock radio stations in the UK and Europe.
The band's fourth album, "Machineries of Joy", was released in 2013 to critical acclaim. The singles "Love Is Not Enough" and "Bad Bohemian" both received significant airplay on alternative rock radio stations in the UK and Europe.
The band's fifth album, "Sea of Brass", was released in 2016 to critical acclaim. The singles "Keep on Dreaming" and "Who's in Control?" both received significant airplay on alternative rock radio stations in the UK and Europe.
The band's sixth album, "Let the Dancers Inherit the Party", was released in 2017 to critical acclaim. The singles "Keep On Dreaming" and "Bad Bohemian" both received significant airplay on alternative rock radio stations in the UK and Europe.
The band is currently signed to Domino Recording Company and has released all of its albums through the label. They have toured extensively throughout Europe, the United States, and Australia.
