The Bright Light Social Hour is an American psychedelic rock band from Austin, Texas. The band is composed of Jackie O'Brien on bass and vocals, Curtis Roush on guitar and vocals, Joseph Mirasole on drums, and A.J. Vincent on keyboards. They have been playing together since 2006 and their music has been described as a mix of blues, funk, soul, and rock with a unique edge that sets them apart from other bands in the genre. The Bright Light Social Hour released their debut album “Space Is Still the Place” in 2011 to critical acclaim. The album was nominated for multiple awards including Best Rock Album at the Austin Music Awards and Best New Band at the Austin Chronicle Music Awards. The band followed up with their second album “Treats” in 2013 which featured singles such as “Back & Forth” and “Dreamlove” which was praised by critics for their unique sound and captivating lyrics. In 2016, The Bright Light Social Hour released their third studio album “Alien Architecture” which was met with even more success than its predecessors.
