Boy & Bear is an Australian indie folk band made up of David Hosking, Killian Gavin, Tim Hart, Jonathan Hart, and David Symes. They have released four EPs and studio albums over the course of their careers; with Moonfire (August 2011) and Harlequin Dream (August 2013) being two of them that ranked in the top ten on the Australian albums chart.
The band's debut album With Malice towards None was released in 2010, which peaked at No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart and was nominated for five ARIA Music Awards. Their second album Harlequin Dream was released in 2013, reaching No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. It won the Best Folk Album award and was nominated for five ARIA Music Awards. Their third album Limit of Love was released on 16 October 2015, reaching No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
Their third album, Limit of Love was released on October 9th, 2015 in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada. It was later released on October 30th in the UK and Europe.
The band has toured internationally, including performances at the Bonnaroo Music Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury Festival, and the Newport Folk Festival.
Boy and Bear released their fourth album, Suck on Light, on 5 April 2019. The lead single from the album, "Hold Your Nerve", was released on 24 January 2019.
