Brooklyn-based Big Thief is an American indie rock band with folk roots. The group consists of Adrianne Lenker (guitar, vocals), Buck Meek (guitar, backing vocals), Max Oleartchik (bass guitar), and James Krivchenia (drums). The band's debut album, Masterpiece, was nobly released on the great Saddle Creek Records in 2016. Their second studio album, Capacity saw the light of day in 2017. And finally, in 2019 they hit gold when signing to 4AD--releasing not one but two stunning albums: U.F.O.F that summer and then Two Hands come fall. Following the success of both albums, U.F.O.F. was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, and "Not" received two nominations 63rd Annual Grammy Awards - Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance. The band's fifth album, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You, was released in February 2022. Big Thief's sound is uniquely their own.
