Yotto, better known by his stage name Yotto, is a Finnish DJ, songwriter, and record producer who goes by the moniker of "Otto Yliperttula." He first gained recognition in 2014 with his debut single "Mulatu," which was followed by a series of EPs and singles that garnered him international attention. In 2018, he released his debut album Hyperfall on Anjunadeep, to critical acclaim.
Yotto's music has been described as "deep house with a melodic twist" and "hypnotic and driving." His sound has been likened to that of fellow Finnish DJ and producer, Henrik Schwarz. Yotto has said that his musical influences include the likes of Schwarz, Âme, Dixon, and Tale of Us.
Yotto has performed at some of the world's most prestigious clubs and festivals, including Berghain, fabric London, Output in Brooklyn, and Warung Beach Club in Brazil. He has also been a regular guest on BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix show. In 2017, he was named by DJ Mag as one of the world's Top 100 DJs.
Yotto continues his rigorous traveling schedule in 2017 with appearances supporting Eric Prydz at ABGT250, Electric Zoo, Spring Awakening, Coachella, and Hi Ibiza. The Netflix original film XOXO also included the Yotto song "Song from the Sun."
On January 27, 2018, his first BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix went live. Later that year, on September 7, 2018, his debut album, Hyperfall, was made available through Anjunadeep. Yotto is currently signed to Anjunadeep, and his music has been released on labels such as Kompakt, Innervisions, and Suol. He currently resides in Berlin, Germany.
