Thievery Corporation is an American electronic music duo consisting of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton. The two met in the mid-90s and began to collaborate on music, eventually forming Thievery Corporation in 1996. Since then, they have released nine studio albums, four compilation Thievery Corporation albums, and numerous singles and remixes. Their music has been described as a blend of dub, acid jazz, reggae, Indian classical, Middle Eastern, hip hop, and electronica. They are known for their Thievery Corporation live performances which often feature guest vocalists and musicians from around the world. The duo's first album was released in 1997 titled Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi. It featured a mix of downtempo beats with Latin influences and samples from various sources including Bollywood films. In 2008 they released Radio Retaliation which featured more reggae-influenced tracks such as “Vampires” featuring Sleepy Wonder & Notch and “El Pueblo Unido” featuring Femi Kuti & Notch. This album earned them another Grammy nomination for Best Recording Package as well as a win for Best Pop Instrumental Performance for the track “Radio Retaliation” featuring Femi Kuti & Notch. In 2024, they released Culture Of Fear which featured more hip hop-influenced tracks such as “Culture Of Fear” featuring Mr Lif & Zeeboe and “Take My Soul” featuring Shana Halligan & Notch. In 2015 they released Saudade which featured more Brazilian-influenced tracks such as “Depth Of My Soul” featuring Shana Halligan & Zeeboe and “Saudade” featuring LouLou Ghelichkhani & Notch.
