He has been likened to artists such as Brian Eno, Steve Reich, and Aphex Twin. Jaar was born in 1990 in Santiago, Chile, to Chilean parents. His family moved to New York when he was six years old. In addition to his solo work, Jaar has also collaborated with a number of other artists. He co-wrote and produced two tracks on Kendrick Lamar's 2015 album To Pimp a Butterfly. He has also worked with Icelandic singer Björk, Chilean-French producer Nicolas Lelievre, and American jazz trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire. Jaar has been praised for his innovative and experimental approach to music. His work often blurs the lines between genres, creating a unique and personal sound. He has been acclaimed by critics and fellow musicians alike, and his work has been featured in several film and television soundtracks.
