The Dave Matthews Band (DMB) is a popular American jam band formed in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 1991 by Dave Matthews, Stefan Lessard, Carter Beauford, and LeRoi Moore. On the 9th of November 1993, DMB proudly unveiled their debut album Remember Two Things via the Bama Rags label. The band's popularity grew rapidly with the release of their 1994 debut album, Under the Table and Dreaming, which featured the singles "Ants Marching" and "Satellite." The album was followed by a series of successful releases, including 1996's Crash, 1998's Before These Crowded Streets, 2001's Every day, 2002's Busted Stuff, 2005's Stand Up, and 2009's Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. DMB is known for its unique blend of rock, jazz, blues, and folk influences, and its live performances often feature extended improvisational jams. 

The band has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and was inducted into the Virginia Music Hall of Fame in 2007. In 2008, the difficult and sad loss of Moore was felt by all; however, instead of halting their progress, they decided to move forward by adding Jeff Coffin and Tim Reynolds as unofficial members. In 2011, the Dave Matthews Band decided not to tour that year in order to commemorate their twentieth anniversary. Instead, they organized four tiny music festivals under the banner "Dave Matthews Band Caravan." The band has a charity, the BAMA Works Fund, which was founded by Matt and his crew in 1999 to assist youth in need, the environment, the arts, and other causes. Since it first started up in 1999, it has contributed $8.5 million to support disadvantaged youth, the environment, the arts, and a number of other causes.
