USS (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker) was a Canadian alternative rock musical duo from Toronto. The band was formed in 1995 by singer-guitarist Ashley Buchholz and turntablist/keyboardist Jason Parsons. The band's sound is a mixture of drum and bass beats, grunge-like guitar riffs, and 2-step rhythms. The band's final lineup consisted of Buchholz, Parsons, bassist Derek Wozencroft and drummer Shawn Glassford.
USS released four studio albums: Questacon (2006), Honey for the Bees (2008), Advanced Basics (2009), and Loneliest Race (2012). The band's most successful single was "Yin Yang", which peaked at number 10 on the Canadian Hot 100 in 2012. The band announced their disbandment on January 9, 2019. USS has been described as "a cross between Weezer and the Beastie Boys". Their music has been featured in several films and television shows, including The Sopranos, 90210, CSI: Miami and Entourage.
