Toad The Wet Sprocket is an American alternative rock band formed in Santa Barbara, California, in 1986. After a few years of playing together, the band released their debut album Bread & Circus in 1989. This album was met with critical acclaim and spawned the hit single “All I Want” which became a Billboard Top 40 hit and earned them a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Toad The Wet Sprocket's second album Pale was released in 1991 and featured the hits “Walk on the Ocean” and “Something’s Always Wrong”. This album went platinum and earned them an MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist. They followed this success with their third album Fear, which included the hit singles “Fall Down” and “Good Intentions”. Fear was certified double-platinum and earned them another MTV Video Music Award for Best Group Video. In 1994, Toad The Wet Sprocket released Dulcinea, their fourth studio album which featured the singles “Something’s Always Wrong” and “Come Down”.
Dulcinea was certified gold by the RIAA and won two more MTV Video Music Awards for Best Group Video and Best Alternative Video. Their fifth studio album Coil was released in 1997 to mixed reviews but still managed to reach gold status thanks to its lead single “Come Back Down”. After taking a break from music for nearly 15 years, Toad The Wet Sprocket returned in 2012 with their sixth studio album New Constellation which featured the singles “Architect of Love” and “California Wasted". They also embarked on a world tour that year to promote their new material. In 2018, they released their seventh studio album Architect of Love featuring the singles "Architect of Love" and "The Moment". Toad The Wet Sprocket received critical acclaim for this record as well as multiple awards including a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album of The Year! Toad The Wet Sprocket has announced that they will be embarking on a world tour this 2023!
