The Rocket Summer is an American rock band from Dallas, Texas. The band is led by frontman Bryce Avary, who is the only permanent member of the group. The Rocket Summer first began in 2000 when Avary started recording his self-titled debut album in his bedroom studio. After releasing this album, he gained a loyal fan base that propelled him to success. In 2003, he released Calendar Days which featured the hit single "So Much Love". This song was featured on MTV's Laguna Beach and was a top-ten hit on the Billboard Modern Rock chart. It also earned him an MTV Video Music Award nomination for Best Breakthrough Video. In 2006, The Rocket Summer released their third album Do You Feel and it became their most successful album to date, reaching #5 on the US Top Heatseekers chart and #22 on the US Independent Albums chart. The lead single "Do You Feel" was a top-twenty hit on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart and earned Avary another MTV Video Music Award nomination for Best Breakthrough Video.
In 2008, they released Of Men and Angels which topped both the US Top Heatseekers and US Independent Albums charts while its singles "Walls" and "So Much Love" both reached #1 on the US Hot Christian Songs chart. The Rocket Summer has gone on to release four more albums since then - Hello Good Friend (2010), Life Will Write The Words (2012), Zoetic (2015) as well as Sweet Shivers (2020). Each of these albums has received critical acclaim from fans all over the world! The band has toured extensively throughout their career with notable performances at Warped Tour, SXSW Festival, Bamboozle Festival, Reading Festival, and Download Festival, among others.
