The Revivalists are an American rock band that was formed in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2007. The band consists of eight band members including lead singer David Shaw, guitarists/pedal steel guitar Zack Feinberg, and Rob Ingraham, bassist George Gekas, drummer Andrew Campanelli, and Paulet PJ Howard, saxophonist Michael Girardot, trombonist, and trumpet player Ed Williams. They released a song in 2014 called 'City Of Sound, in 2015 called 'Men Amongst Mountains', and in 2010 'Vital Signs'. They also have released three The Revivalists albums: their debut album, Take Good Care (2018), and their most recent album, All My Friends (2019). The Revivalists are known for The Revivalists live shows and have toured with acts such as Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, My Morning Jacket, Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, and Dave Matthews Band.
The Revivalists' fourth studio album, Take Good Care, featured the lead single, "All My Friends," which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Adult Alternative radio chart in August 2018. The band's first release with the independent label Loma Vista Recordings is the album, which was out on November 9, 2018. With the help of Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton), Andrew Dawson (Kanye West, Fun., Sleigh Bells), and Dave Bassett (Elle King, Vance Joy), The Revivalists recorded and co-wrote their first record at Nashville's RCA Studio B. It would also be the first time drummer/percussionist PJ Howard joined the band in the studio. The Revivalists have worked to collect money for numerous causes over the years. Feinberg, Gekas, and Ingraham performed at The Howlin' Wolf in New Orleans alongside members of Naughty Professor, Cardinal Sons, and RumpelSTEELskin.
The Revivalists concert raised money for Emily's Entourage, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis. The group collaborated with approximately 150 local kids in the Roots of Music after-school music and tutoring program. The Roots of Music presents Band Together, a performance featuring numerous children and regional bands like The Revivalists, which was one of the fundraisers. Additionally, the band gave the organization money from some of their concerts. The Revivalists band's sound has been described as a mix of rock, R&B, soul, and funk. Their music has been featured on television shows such as Grey's Anatomy, Suits, Roadies, and Station 19.
