The Manatees Tickets

The Manatees formed in New Orleans in 2015, spearheaded by bassist Marcus Fields. They were inspired by superstars such as Herbie Hancock and Tower of Power, whose music is rooted in jazz, funk, and R&B. Marcus studied music composition at Loyola University. Their debut EP, River Rhythms (2016), showcased the band's fluid grooves. Early appearances at local jazz bars earned them a loyal audience and cemented their reputation for tight, soulful instrumentation.

The Manatees' 2018 album Funk Tide peaked at #8 on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. They headlined the 2019 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and traveled extensively throughout the Southeast, performing with jazz vocalist Ella Monroe. Their 2021 live CD, Manatee Live at Tipitina's, features dynamic performances and audience engagement. In 2024, The Manatees released Current Flow, which included fan favorites "Deep Dive" and "Sunset Groove."
