The Glorious Sons are a Canadian rock band from Kingston, Ontario. The band consists of brothers Brett and Jay Emmons on lead vocals and guitar, respectively, along with Chris Koster on rhythm guitar, Adam Paquette on drums, and Kris Bentley on bass.
The band released their first EP, Shapeless Art, in 2011. The following year, they released their debut album, The Union. In 2013, they released their second album, Savages. The album peaked at number 3 on the Canadian Albums Chart and was certified platinum by Music Canada.
The band started recording The Union, their debut full-length album, at Catherine North Studio in Hamilton, Ontario, with producer John-Angus MacDonald of The Trews in between tours in March 2014. The album was completed in May 2014, and released on October 14, 2014. It debuted at number 2 on the Canadian Albums Chart, selling 12,600 copies in its first week. In February 2015, the album was certified platinum by Music Canada.
In 2016, the band released their third studio album, Young Beauties and Fools. The album peaked at number 1 on the Canadian Albums Chart and was certified gold by Music Canada.
In 2018, the band released their fourth studio album, Fire. The album peaked at number 2 on the Canadian Albums Chart and was certified platinum by Music Canada.
The band has been nominated for four Juno Awards, winning two. They have also won two Canadian Radio Music Awards, and two SOCAN Songwriting Prize.
The band's sound has been compared to that of classic rock and roll bands such as Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and AC/DC. Their influences include The Tragically Hip, Neil Young, Nirvana, and Bruce Springsteen.
