The Avalanches are an Australian electronic music group formed in Melbourne in 1997. They are best known for their debut album Since I Left You, which was released in 2000. The album is notable for its innovative sample-based production and its eclectic mix of genres and influences. The Avalanches have released three studio albums, two compilations, one EP, one instrumental hip hop album, and one live album. In 2003, the band released their second studio album, Wildflower, to mixed reviews. The album peaked at number two on the ARIA Albums Chart and was certified double platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). In 2005, The Avalanches released a compilation album, Oddities, which contained B-sides and remixes.
In 2016, The Avalanches returned with their third studio album, Wildflower. The album was nominated for the ARIA Award for Best Dance Album.
