Summer Salt is an indie-rock band from Austin, Texas. Formed in 2013, the group consists of frontman Matt Terry, bassist Eugene Chung, drummer and backing vocalist Michael Coleman, and guitarist Nathaniel Blum. The band has released two studio albums: Happy Camper (2016) and Everywhere You Go (2020). Summer Salt's music is a mix of surf rock, dream pop, and indie rock influences that blend together to create a unique sound reminiscent of the 1960s. The band's debut album Happy Camper was released in 2016 to critical acclaim. It featured the hit single "Driving To Hawaii," which became a popular song on streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music. The album also included fan favorites such as "Kahului Airport" and "Honeyweed." In 2018 Summer Salt released their second EP titled "Sugarland." This EP featured more dreamy tunes such as "Lemon Lime" and "Dive Into The Sun."
In 2020, Summer Salt released their sophomore album Everywhere You Go to great success. The album debuted at number one on the US Heatseekers chart and peaked at number 34 on the Billboard 200 chart. It also spawned several singles including "Paisley," which was featured in an episode of HBO's Euphoria. Other tracks from this record include "Spinning Wheels," which was used in an episode of Netflix's Queer Eye; "My Boyfriend," which was used in an episode of Hulu's Ramy; and the lead single from the record, "Caroline." Summer Salt continues to tour extensively throughout 2023 across Europe with dates scheduled for cities such as London, Paris, Berlin & Amsterdam.
