Preoccupations are a Canadian post-punk band from Calgary, Alberta. The band consists of singer and guitarist Matt Flegel, drummer Mike Wallace, and bassist Dan Boeckner. Preoccupations formed in 2013, after the dissolution of the punk band Women. Preoccupations' self-titled debut album was released in 2016 to critical acclaim. The album was nominated for the Polaris Music Prize, and the band was listed as one of Pitchfork's Best New Bands of 2016. Preoccupations' second album, New Material, was released in 2018. The album was again met with critical acclaim, and was nominated for the Polaris Music Prize. Preoccupations are currently touring in support of New Material. Catch them live at a venue near you!
