Mudhoney is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1988. The mudhoney band consists of singer and rhythm guitarist Mark Arm, lead guitarist Steve Turner, bassist Guy Maddison and drummer Dan Peters. They are known for their garage punk sound and their influence on the grunge movement of the 1990s. Mudhoney has released eight studio albums since their formation, including their debut album Superfuzz Bigmuff (1988), Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge (1991), Piece Of Cake (1992), and Vanishing Point (2013). Mudhoney's music is rooted in the early punk scene of the 1980s. Their sound incorporates elements of punk, garage rock, alternative rock, and grunge. The band's lyrics often reflect a sense of dark humor and irony. Mudhoney has earned critical acclaim over the years for its edgy yet melodic sound. They have been nominated for two Grammy Awards - Best Hard Rock Performance in 1994 for "Suck You Dry" and Best Metal Performance in 1996 for "Touch Me I'm Sick". In addition to these awards, they have also won several other accolades such as Rolling Stone Magazine's Readers Poll Award for Best New Artist in 1989.
They also got Spin Magazine's Album Of The Year Award for Piece Of Cake in 1992.
