Metronomy is an English electronic music group founded in 1999 by Joseph Mount. The band’s sound is a unique blend of indie rock, electro-pop, and dance music. With their innovative approach to creating music, Metronomy has become one of the most influential bands in the UK indie scene. Metronomy's first album, Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 You Owe), was released in 2006 and featured the single “You Could Easily Have Me”. This track received critical acclaim from both fans and critics alike. The following year, Metronomy released their second album Nights Out which gained them further recognition and allowed them to tour extensively throughout Europe. The album spawned two top-ten singles: “Heartbreaker” and “The Look”. In 2009, Metronomy released their third album, The English Riviera which was met with critical success and earned them a Mercury Music Prize nomination for Album of the Year.
In 2014, Metronomy released their fourth studio album Love Letters which was met with critical acclaim and won Best Album at the Q Awards that year. The Metronomy band went on to release two more albums: Summer 08 (2016) and Metronomy Forever (2019). Both albums were well-received by fans and critics alike with Summer 08 being nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize in 2016. Metronomy has also achieved great success on the live circuit having performed at festivals such as Glastonbury, Coachella, Reading & Leeds Festival, Latitude Festival, and many more across Europe & North America. They are now embarking on a world tour in 2023 which will include dates across Europe & North America including stops in London, Paris, Berlin & Los Angeles amongst others!
