  • La Dispute is an American post-hardcore band from Grand Rapids, Michigan, formed in 2004. The band consists of Jordan Dreyer (vocals), Brad Vander Lugt (drums), Adam Vass (bass), Chad Sterenberg (guitar) and Kevin Whittemore (guitar). After self-releasing their first EP, Here, Hear in 2006, they signed to No Sleep Records and released their debut album, Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair, in 2008. The band's second album, Wildlife, was released in 2011 on Vagrant Records. Their third album, Rooms of the House, was released on April 7, 2014 through their own label Better Living. La Dispute has been described as post-hardcore, emo, screamo and indie rock. The band is known for their highly literate and often cryptic lyrics, which are written by vocalist Jordan Dreyer and often touch upon themes such as human nature, relationships, religion, addiction and mental illness. The band's first release was the three-song Here, Hear EP in 2006. It was followed by their debut album, Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair, in 2008. The album was well received by critics and helped to increase the band's fanbase. In 2010, the band released a split EP with Touché Amoré. The following year, they released their second album, Wildlife. The album was again well received by critics and helped to increase the band's popularity. In 2012, the band went on hiatus, during which time several members participated in other musical projects. The band returned in 2013 with a new song, "For Mayor in Splitsville", which was included on a split EP with Pianos Become the Teeth. In 2014, the band released their third album, Rooms of the House. The album was once again well received by critics and helped to further increase the band's popularity. Finding La Dispute tickets for cheap can be tough, but Yadara has got you covered.
