Kenny Wayne Shepherd is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter who has been making music for over two decades. His career began when he was just 16 years old, with the release of his debut album Ledbetter Heights in 1995. Since then, Kenny has released nine studio albums and two live albums, as well as numerous singles that have earned him critical acclaim. His signature blues-rock sound has won him five Grammy nominations, three Billboard Music Awards, and a Blues Music Award. Kenny's most successful album to date is Trouble Is... which was released in 1997 and went double platinum in the US. He has collaborated with several iconic artists such as Jonny Lang, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, among others. Kenny's music is heavily influenced by blues legends like Muddy Waters and Albert King, but his style also incorporates elements of rock, soul, and country music. In addition to his solo work, Kenny is also part of the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band (KWSB).
The band consists of vocalist Noah Hunt, bassist Kevin McCormick, drummer Chris Layton (formerly of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Double Trouble), and keyboardist Riley Osbourn. KWSB has released four albums since forming in 1998; Live On (1999), The Place You're In (2004), Goin' Home (2014) and Lay It On Down (2017). The band's latest album Lay It On Down went to #1 on the Blues Albums chart upon its release in 2017. The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band continues to tour extensively around the world; they recently completed a sold-out tour across Europe in 2020 with special guest Joe Bonamassa. They are currently planning their 2023 tour which will take them across North America including stops at major cities such as New York City, Los Angeles, Nashville, and more!
