James Bay is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Hitchin, England. In 2014, he signed with Republic Records and released his debut single "Hold Back the River," which peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart. His debut album Chaos and the Calm was released in 2015 and became certified platinum in both the US and the UK. The album also earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album as well as three Brit Awards for British Male Solo Artist, British Breakthrough Act, and Mastercard British Album of the Year. It produced hit singles such as "Us," "Wild Love," "Pink Lemonade" and "Peer Pressure" featuring Julia Michaels. This album earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album as well as a Brit Award for Best British Male Solo Artist. In 2020 he released his third studio album titled Oh My Messy Mind which featured singles such as “Chew On My Heart” and “Bad”.
