Field Guide is an indie-folk band from Toronto, Ontario. The band consists of four members: singer and songwriter Emma Lee, multi-instrumentalist Aaron Goldstein, bassist Josh Van Tassel, and drummer John Dinsmore. The group formed in 2012 and has since released two albums - Field Guide (2015) and Shiver (2018). Field Guide's music has been described as a mix of folk, pop, and rock with a hint of country. Their sound is often compared to the likes of Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver. They have received critical acclaim for their unique blend of genres and heartfelt lyrics. The band has toured extensively throughout North America over the past few years, including stops at festivals such as SXSW in Austin, Texas; Osheaga in Montreal; WayHome Music & Arts Festival in Oro-Medonte; Rifflandia in Victoria; Hillside Festival in Guelph; and many more. In 2020, they were nominated for a Juno Award for Best Contemporary Roots Album of the Year for their album Shiver.
In 2021, Field Guide released their third album You Were which was met with positive reviews from critics. The album features singles such as “Leave You Lonely” and “You Were” which have become fan favorites. The band has also released several music videos for songs off the album including “You Were” (Official Audio), “Shiver”, “Leave You Lonely - Official Music Video”, and “You Were (bedroom session)”. In 2023, Field Guide will embark on a world tour to promote their new album You Were. They will be playing shows across Canada, Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Asia/Pacific Islands, South America/Central America/Caribbean Islands, Africa/Middle East/India Subcontinent regions throughout the year.
