Elliot Maginot is a contemplative artist who enjoys experimenting with new sounds, enhancing textures, working with words, and developing his orchestrations.
After learning to play the guitar as a youth, Elliot Maginot gradually honed his melodic abilities; dispersed refrains, choruses, and verses eventually take shape. When his brother hears them, he exhorts the young musician to start writing actual tunes. The aspiring composer develops his compositions and adds voice layers while working alone at the computer. A first EP created as a result of these attempts, "Digging the Furrow of Folk," was published on MySpace in 2013. The Montreal bars then hosted a number of performances.
Elliot Maginot makes a comeback in May 2021 with Easy Morning, a largely acoustic album co-produced with Connor Seidel that incorporates West African rhythms, mellow strings, and warm brass.
