Billie Marten is an English singer-songwriter from Ripon, North Yorkshire. At the age of 12, she started to write her own songs and taught herself guitar. She has since become a critically acclaimed artist with her albums Writing of Blues and Greens (2016) and Feeding Seahorses By Hand (2018). Her music has been described as “intimate folk” and “charming indie-pop” by critics. In 2016, Billie released her debut album Writing of Blues and Greens which earned her a nomination for the BBC Sound Of 2016 award. This album featured the singles "Lionhearted" and "Heavy Weather", both of which reached the UK Top 40 Singles Chart. The success of this album led to a sold-out tour in 2017 across Europe, including shows in London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Dublin. In 2018, Billie released her second album Feeding Seahorses By Hand to critical acclaim.
This album was nominated for Best Album at the 2020 AIM Awards and featured singles such as "Garden of Eden", "Live Wire", and "Pretty Polly". In 2019 Billie embarked on another successful European tour that included performances in London's O2 Academy Brixton, Manchester's Albert Hall, and Glasgow's Barrowland Ballroom among many other venues across Europe. Billie Marten is currently gearing up for her 2023 world tour! This tour will include dates in the United Kingdom as well as stops in Europe including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and more!
