Located in the unincorporated community of Cumberland, approximately 10 miles from downtown Atlanta, Truist Park (formerly SunTrust Park) serves as a stunning home for Major League Baseball's Braves. Situated within Cobb County, Georgia, and ready to entertain guests with premier baseball experiences every game day. Since 2017, the Atlanta Braves have made SunTrust Park their illustrious home stadium. Truist Park can comfortably accommodate an audience of up to 41,084 people. Centennial Olympic Stadium was constructed specifically for the 1996 Summer Olympics, but with a vision to convert it into a ballpark after the games concluded - even when this meant forfeiting its use in other sports activities like track and field. On the 25th of January, 2017, it was announced that Truist Park would host a historic first baseball game between the University of Georgia and the University of Missouri on April 8. For the first time, the Georgia-Missouri match was open to all members of the public! An epic 33,025 fans gathered to cheer on Missouri as they ultimately defeated Georgia 6–1. Trey Harris of Missouri hit a record-breaking home run! On March 31, 2017, the Braves welcomed season ticket holders to their soft opening for a preseason game against the New York Yankees. On April 14, 2017, the grand opening of the park featured a thrilling matchup between the San Diego Padres and the home team. Within the stadium, sixteen semicircular tables with swivel chairs filled sections 122 and 130 along the first-base and third-base lines. These adjustable furniture pieces replaced the top six rows of seating. After the 80 four-person tables on the terrace level of the stadium sold out in record time during the prior year, it was necessary to make a change. The Delta Sky360 Club, available to fans with lower-level premium seating between the dugouts – including those at the brand-new tables - was extended by a spacious 2,000 square feet (190 m2)! By removing the media interview room, we were able to gain substantial extra dining and kitchen space. The ballpark is specifically designed to bring attendees as near to the action as possible, with more seats located close to the field than any other Major League Baseball stadium. Beyond the center-field wall, nestled in the "batter's eye" area of the ballpark lies three majestic evergreen trees. Surrounded by mammoth boulders and a captivating waterfall affectionately known as "Chattahoochee Falls," this area is an enchanting escape from the hustle of everyday life. The safety and security of guests is a top priority at Truist Park, which has dedicated itself to providing enhanced foul ball protection with the installation of extended netting from behind the home plate to both dugouts. This protective layer ensures that spectators are better guarded than ever before! Truist Park's protective netting is extended in length, though not quite to the same height as Turner Field's. At the new stadium, the screen towers to an impressive 31+1⁄2 feet (9.6 m) tall - three and a half feet higher than it was at its predecessor! For their stadium, the Braves chose a grass called "Seashore Paspalum, Platinum TE," which has proven to be an ideal option. To provide an improved playing surface for the infielders, the Braves switched out Turner Field's Tifway 419 hybrid Bermuda grass in 2012 with a softer and thicker paspalum turf. This was done to slow down play on this field for their benefit. The Monument Garden at Truist Park is a captivating symphony of sound, light, and water! To give Braves fans a truly unique visual experience, the team joined forces with Atlanta-based A-R-T & Associates. This artwork, inspired by the Braves' storied franchise history, brings to life some of the team's most cherished memories. Boasting an impressive Wi-Fi network, the stadium can provide up to 14,000 concurrent users with access on any given game day. From college football to concerts and beyond, the venue is host to an array of popular events for its great Truist Park event space. At the venue, you can expect to see a wide array of exhilarating events and games. From the San Diego Padres take on the Atlanta Braves to Miami Marlins versus their rival team from Georgia - there is something for everyone!
