On April 1, 2021, with the construction of certain sections still in progress, Worcester Red Sox players took to the field for their inaugural practice at their new stadium. Despite the presence of COVID-19 in Massachusetts, Polar Park was able to open its 2021 season by allowing a limited number of visitors - 25% capacity.
On May 11th, the Worcester Red Sox officially opened their ballpark with a Triple-A matchup against the Syracuse Mets. As of May 29, 2021, the park is now permitted to occupy its full seating capacity without restrictions. On October 23, 2021, Polar Park was the site of a historic event as two Patriot League rivals - Holy Cross and Colgate University - squared off in its inaugural football game. With immense excitement, ownership announced in January 2022 an extensive upgrade to the park which will include a brand new video board for the right field and additional seating called "Papi's Power Alley" located at the right-center.
